The Broken Seal
Epilogue: What Velharrow Knows Now
The sky barrier holds. The first seal fragment steadies. The eastern fracture is closed. The crystal chorus speaks in wounded but honest chords again. Velharrow has names for what happened: seal, guardian, sky barrier, crystal chorus, Shattered Apex, Firmament Rift — and, in the marsh, black current and seal-bleed for those who walked the optional road.
Archivist Vale's records now span from the Iron Wound to the Null Sovereign's throne. Captain Arlo's watch continues. Elder Rowan tells the village that the Broken Seal is mended — for now.
What the region still does not have is a name for the hand that weakened the supports. The unseen antagonist never stood in the east, never wore the Sovereign's light, never spoke through the Harbinger's storm. That enemy remains hidden, and Book Two waits on the day Velharrow learns where the next seal might break.
Until then, any traveler may arrive at the gate unnamed and climb from wolves to wraiths to the firmament itself. That is enough for one book — but not for the whole story.
